My Jewish Learning Book Club: Near to the Wild Heart
Hosted By: My Jewish Learning

Join My Jewish Learning’s new monthly book club based on our Great Jewish Books email series. This book discussion group will let you dive deep into a celebrated Jewish novel from the past century, help you understand its historical context and key themes, and give you an opportunity to talk about it with other readers from all over the world.
In June, we will be reading and discussing Clarice Lispector’s Near to the Wild Heart. The Jewish-Brazilian author’s debut novel brings together her roots to capture the inner life of a young woman who recalls her childhood through an unhappy marriage and its dissolution to transcendence. You can buy the book here.
Discussion will be led by Julia Bosson, writer, writing teacher, and Fulbright Scholar.
The Book Club will be meeting monthly — stay tuned for more info about the next meetings and the books.
