Living Your Best Life: The Mussar Edition

Hosted By: American Jewish University's Whizin Center for Continuing Education

As the founder the Mussar Institute, Dr. Alan Morinis teaches that our ancient spiritual practices can enable each person to unlock the gates of your soul to become your best self, by drawing on and sharing the teachings of Mussar to foster a life of greater meaning and enhanced relationships.

Join him in conversation with Rabbi Pinchas Giller, as they discuss how Jewish spirituality can help to illuminate our lives.

Teacher

Dr. Alan Morinis

Alan Morinis is the Founder of The Mussar Institute. He is an anthropologist, filmmaker, writer, and student of spiritual traditions. He is an active interpreter of the teachings and practices of the Mussar tradition and regularly gives lectures and workshops. Born and raised in a culturally Jewish but non-observant home, he studied anthropology at Oxford University on a Rhodes Scholarship. Alan has written books and produced feature films, television dramas, and documentaries and has taught at several universities. Although he took a deep journey into Hindu and Buddhist thought and practice, for the past seven years the nearly-lost Jewish spiritual discipline of Mussar has been his passion.
