The Community Scholar Program presents a conversation with celebrated Israeli author and filmmaker Etgar Keret on Israel, storytelling, identity, and the strange realities of living through historic times. Keret shares personal insights on daily life in Israel, the emotional and political complexity of the current moment, and the role of humor, imagination, and storytelling in times of uncertainty. The conversation also explores his new role in New York as director of the Jewish Theological Seminary’s MFA program in Creative Writing and what it means to build a new home for Jewish storytelling at this moment in history.
