Literary Snapshots from Jerusalem: A Conversation with Deborah Harris & Yaniv Iczkovits
Hosted By: Jewish Book Council, The America Israel Friendship League (AIFL)
Join us for a conversation about contemporary Israeli literature through the lens of a top Israeli literary agent and one of her premier authors. Deborah Harris of Deborah Harris Agency–the most recent recipient of the Jewish Book Council’s Mentorship Award as a part of the National Jewish Book Awards–and Yaniv Iczkovits–author of the recently translated novel, The Slaughterman’s Daughter, and one of Deborah’s own authors–will discuss the latest books and trends from today’s Israeli literary scene, big-picture present-day challenges for authors and agents in Israel, and everything in between.
Deborah and Yaniv will take us inside the world of Israeli writers and writings from two informed perspectives, and they will also shed light on their own unique and invaluable contributions to the field.
Among other questions, they will address:
How they rose to the top of their fields as an agent/author in Israel
The evolution of themes and trends in the domestic Israeli market
What the American literary market needs to know about its counterpart in Israel
This event will feature:
