SUMMARY:Lamenting Together: Community Eicha Reading
DESCRIPTION:The central ritual of Tisha B’Av\, a Jewish day of mourning\, is reading Megillat Eicha\, the Book of Lamentations. \nThe text itself is theologically challenging and the chanting\, which is unlike the way other Jewish texts are read aloud\, mimics the sounds of crying. The reading is meant to help listeners more fully feel this moment of sadness. This year\, our sadness comes from many directions.
