Korach’s Rebellion: Authority, Dissent, and the Erosion of Trust
Hosted By: The Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning
The Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Education presents a one-hour class with Rabbi Michele Faudem on the rebellion of Korach, one of the Torah’s most explosive confrontations with Moses and Aaron. Through close reading and discussion, the session wrestles with enduring questions about when dissent is necessary and when it becomes destructive, how much trust a community should place in its leaders, and what happens when principled criticism blurs into personal ambition. Revisiting Moses as a vulnerable and embattled leader, the class draws out insights about responsibility, humility, and what it takes to sustain trust in moments of conflict and division.
