Kibbutz Buchenwald: How Survivors Wrote Their Way to a New Beginning
Hosted By: The Siegal Lifelong Learning Program at Case Western Reserve University
Siegal Lifelong Learning presents a program on how Holocaust survivors used writing as a tool for healing and rebuilding identity. Through journal entries, participants will see how survivors transformed trauma into purpose, ultimately founding Kibbutz Netzer Sereni, which still exists today. The session also considers how collective storytelling helps communities respond to catastrophe, including in the wake of October 7.
