Justice and the Jewish Story: Three Trials That Changed Everything
Hosted By: The Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning
The Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Education presents a three-part course exploring pivotal trials involving Jewish figures from ancient Judea to modern France. Each session examines how courtroom battles have reflected deeper struggles over identity, power, and justice—from the trial of Jesus, to Shylock in “The Merchant of Venice,” to the Dreyfus Affair. Through legal records, literature, and history, participants will uncover how these trials shaped perceptions of Jews and their place in society.
