Joy-ish: Joy isn’t optional. Judaism has known this forever

Hosted By: Kveller, My Jewish Learning

Tuesday, June 23 at 6:00 p.m. ET

A conversation with Carla Naumburg and Molly Tolsky, Editorial Director, Culture & Lifestyle at 70 Faces Media

There’s a reason Jews say l’chaim (to life!) and not l’simcha (to joy!). Turns out, the path to more joy runs straight through the rest of our lives — gratitude and grief, connection and play, learning and giving.

In this talk, Carla Naumburg, clinical social worker and author of Kveller’s email series Joy-ish and Calm-ish, draws on Jewish wisdom and practical psychology to explore simple, daily practices for increasing our joy. They may sound like a lot — but they’re more feasible and powerful than you think.

Carla Naumburg, PhD, LICSW, is the author of five books, including the bestselling How to Stop Losing Your Sh*t With Your Kids (Workman, 2019) and a forthcoming non-fiction introduction to Judaism for middle-grade readers (Workman Kids, 2027). Carla lives in Massachusetts with her husband and two daughters.  .

This event is the next in a series of events geared toward helping you build resilience and connection in this moment, brought to you by My Jewish Learning and Kveller, with the support of UJA-Federation of New York.
