Jewish Settlement in North America and the Importance of Mobility
Hosted By: Orange County Jewish Community Scholar Program ("CSP")
The Community Scholar Program presents a four-part series tracing more than 250 years of American Jewish life, shaped by mobility, reinvention, and opportunity. The sessions move from early Sephardic and Ashkenazic communities in colonial port cities, through immigration, expansion, and upheaval in the 19th and early 20th centuries, to postwar suburbanization and the rise of Sunbelt Jewish centers. Together, the series examines how patterns of movement and settlement have continually reshaped American Jewish identity and community.
