Jewish (Northern) Lights: Amsterdam

Hosted By: Jewish Majorca

Get on the Hot Air Zoom Balloon to meet exceptional guides and Jewish community members who live around the world and will tell us first-hand the history and current activities of their communities.

Nachshon is the founder of the Young Jewish community Bendigamos in Amsterdam. He is one of the few Portuguese Jews left in Amsterdam after its community was decimated in WWII. In an ultimate attempt to revive the community and its traditions, he started a new community in 2015, basically from scratch. In six years they have become a sizeable, vibrant, and growing community, attracting a wide range of Jews with an average age of 30 years old. This is a positive story about a beautiful history and a beautiful future, and you’ll hear some of the secrets to their success. Excited to connect!
