Jewish Geography and Genealogy: The Jewish journey to NYC through the lens of one family
Hosted By: The City Congregation For Humanistic Judaism
In the early 20th century, Jews were arriving in New York City from all over the world. TCC member Lina Miller is on a multi-year mission to discover her own roots by researching where her ancestors lived before they landed in New York Harbor. In this program, Lina will discuss a bit of historical geography and geopolitics, and how they frame the pursuit of personal ancestry for Jews of Eastern European heritage. She’ll also provide tips and tricks for your own genealogical journey!
