Israel Literature: A Watchman for the House of Israel
Hosted By: Pardes
The Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies presents a course on the work of Nathan Alterman, one of Israel’s foremost poets. Focusing on poems published in Ha’aretz and Davar between 1934 and 1967, the sessions examine his responses to politics, war, the Holocaust, and early Israeli statehood. The course studies these largely untranslated works through close reading and discussion.
