Marion Wiesel, who escaped an internment camp with her family during the Holocaust, is a translator, humanitarian and activist who marched for civil rights in the South. Wiesel, along with her husband Eli Wiesel, founded The Elie Wiesel Foundation for Humanity to fight indifference, intolerance, and injustice in the world, and the Beit Tzipora Centers to assist and educate Ethiopian refugees in Israel. She is a recipient of the 2001 U.S. Medal of Citizenship.
