I Am Hava: The Power of Multicultural Books

Hosted By: The Union for Reform Judaism (URJ)

Acclaimed transcultural Indian-Jewish artist Siona Benjamin tells the story of developing the incredible artwork for the brand new children’s book, I Am Hava. Why is Hava blue? She is blue like the sky and like the ocean. She is from everywhere and from nowhere. Hava is a beautiful song – also timeless and borderless. All she does is spread joy. The song Hava Negilah is used universally by the Jewish community around the world, spanning races and cultures. As a Jewish person from India living in America, Siona believes in the power of multicultural books to celebrate the diversity of the Jewish community.

Just in time for Hanukkah, Siona will share excerpts from her brand-new book and engage in dynamic conversation about multicultural identity with Shekhiynah Larks of Be’chol Lashon. Brought to you in partnership with Be’chol Lashon.
