SUMMARY:Hagar and Hannah: Praying from the Depths of our Souls
DESCRIPTION:a special pre Rosh Hashanah Torah study with Rabbi Elliot Goldberg\nFriday\, September 11\, 10:30 a.m. ET \nJoin Rabbi Elliot Goldberg for a special pre-Rosh Hashanah Torah study exploring two women whose desperate prayers echo through our High Holiday liturgy: Hagar\, crying out in the wilderness as her son Ishmael nears death\, and Hannah\, pouring out her silent\, anguished prayer for a child in the sanctuary at Shiloh. \nBoth women speak from the rawest edges of grief and longing — and both are heard. Their stories\, drawn from the Torah and Haftarah readings of Rosh Hashanah\, offer a profound lens for the prayers we ourselves bring into the new year. \nBy signing up\, you’ll get a link to join the conversation on Friday\, September 11th at 10:30 am ET / 7:30 am PT and will start receiving reminders for our weekly group Torah study sessions and our weekly event email.
