For the Pleasure of Babies: Jewish Children and Their Games in Early Modern Europe

Hosted By: The National Library of Israel (NLI)

Children rarely make it into the history books, and as a result, their lives have often been overlooked over the centuries, leaving us with plenty of questions, but few answers.

Join the National Library of Israel online as Dr. Tali Berner explores the unique culture of children in Jewish communities in early modern Europe. They will examine how Jewish children celebrated holidays and life cycle events, and how Jewish customs and law shaped the culture of childhood.
