Exploring the Masterpieces of Art in Rome, Florence, and Venice
Hosted By: Orange County Jewish Community Scholar Program ("CSP")
The Community Scholar Program presents a three-part series with acclaimed artist Tobi Kahn exploring the artistic soul of Italy. Sessions travel through Rome, where ancient sculpture, Renaissance genius, and contemporary vision meet in the Vatican Museums, Galleria Borghese, Musei Capitolini, Palazzo Barberini, and MAXXI; Florence, the birthplace of the Renaissance and home to Michelangelo’s David, Botticelli’s Birth of Venus, and Brunelleschi’s Duomo; and Venice, where Byzantine splendor, Renaissance masters, Murano glass, and lace traditions created a city unlike any other. Together, participants will explore Italy’s greatest masterpieces and the artists, patrons, and innovations that transformed the country into one of the world’s most extraordinary centers of creativity.
