Exploring the Masterpieces of Art in Rome, Florence, and Venice
Hosted By: Orange County Jewish Community Scholar Program ("CSP")
The Community Scholar Program presents a three-part series with acclaimed artist Tobi Kahn exploring the artistic soul of Italy through Rome, Florence, and Venice. Sessions travel from the eternal layers of Rome, where ancient sculpture and Renaissance genius meet in sites including the Vatican Museums and Galleria Borghese, to Florence, birthplace of the Renaissance and home to Michelangelo’s David and Brunelleschi’s Duomo, and finally to Venice, where Byzantine splendor and Renaissance masters created a city unlike any other. Together, participants will explore Italy’s greatest masterpieces and the artists, patrons, and innovations that transformed the country into one of the world’s most extraordinary centers of creativity.
