Explore the rich history, traditions and culture of one of the world’s most beloved Jewish communities.
The origins of the Ethiopian Jews, who called themselves “Beta Israel” (The House of Israel) have long been the subject of mystery.
In this new online class, Steven Kaplan — professor emeritus at Hebrew University and one of the world’s top experts on Ethiopian Jewish history — decodes the history for us, from ancient times to the wars of 17th century Africa to the modern era.
It’s a rare chance to cut through the news headlines, myths and legends to learn the incredible true story of this resilient community.
