The Yiddish Book Center presents a screening of “Dust Bowls and Jewish Souls,” an 89-minute documentary revealing a new side of Woody Guthrie, whose wanderings brought him to a vibrant Jewish culture in 1940s New York City that deeply influenced his life and music. The screening is followed by a live Q&A with award-winning director and producer Steven Pressman on the film, Guthrie’s enduring legacy, and the Jewish influences that shaped his work. The event is cosponsored by the Springfield JCC.
