Documenting History Through Art with the David Labkovski Project
Hosted By: The Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning

Lithuanian-Israeli artist, David Labkovski documented history through art as a way to bear witness to the past. His artwork depicts: the vibrant community of Vilna, his imprisonment in the Soviet Gulag, the fate of his beloved childhood community under the Nazi occupation and his resiliency as a freeman living in Israel. Labkovski’s work offers a glimpse into the range of human emotion—hope and despair, joy and sorrow.
Join us in commemoration of Kristallnacht for this powerful lecture and workshop.
