Do We Need a New Generation of Jewish and Israeli Publishers? with William Kolbrener, Howard Lovy and Amy E. Schwartz

Hosted By: Moment Magazine

Moment Magazine hosts a conversation with Bar-Ilan University professor William Kolbrener, publisher of the global platform Writing on the Wall, and journalist Howard Lovy, editor-in-chief of the new trade press Canary Publishing, on the state of publishing today and the challenges facing Jewish and Israeli writers in an increasingly polarized literary landscape. Since October 7, Jewish writers, particularly Israelis, have perceived a wave of hostility in the literary world, and the discussion examines how publishers, literary institutions, and writers have responded and what the current moment means for the future of Jewish voices in publishing. The conversation is moderated by Moment Opinion & Books Editor Amy E. Schwartz.
