The Spinoza Havurah: The Zoom Shul presents a close reading of the relationship between David and Jonathan as it appears in the book of Samuel, examining the story’s explicit and implicit sexuality without apologetics. The session is led by Elliot Vaisrub Glassenberg, queer Jewish educator-activist and senior educator at BINA: The Home of Israeli Judaism. Participants will work directly with the text to consider what the narrative itself reveals about one of the Bible’s most intimate relationships.
