Dark Shadows Hover — A Sephardic Boy During the Holocaust in WWII Yugoslavia
Hosted By: Jewish Study Center
The Jewish Study Center, in partnership with Sephardic Heritage International DC (SHIN-DC), presents a class on little-known events of the Holocaust and World War II in Yugoslavia. The session centers on “Dark Shadows Hover,” a fictionalized memoir based on the real experiences of Moric “Moris” Albahari, a Sephardic Jew from Bosnia who escaped Nazi capture as a child and became a partisan courier. His story offers a rare glimpse into the Sephardic experience during the Holocaust in the Balkans.
