Book Talk: The Allure of Dead Jews
Hosted By: Jewish Review of Books
Register to hear Abraham Socher, editor in chief of the Jewish Review of Books, in conversation with writer Dara Horn about her brilliant, searing, and shockingly funny new book, People Love Dead Jews: Reports from a Haunted Present. Horn has been writing terrific essays and reviews for the magazine since its very first issue almost 12 years ago. In fact, the fourth chapter of the book grew from an essay she wrote for the magazine a few years ago about Benjamin Zuskin, director of the Moscow Jewish State Theater. He won the Stalin Prize in 1946—and was murdered by Stalin in 1952 during “the night of the murdered poets.”
