American Football in the Holy Land

Hosted By: The America Israel Friendship League (AIFL)

It’s playoff time for American football in the U.S., but football fans around the world will also be tuning in. In Israel, following high profile visits of NFL legends, and the growth of indigenous leagues with players from throughout the small country, American football is now a popular pastime for both players and fans in the Holy Land.

Rabbi Jeremy Fine will moderate the panel that will include former NFL players as well as current coaches, players and leaders in the Israel Football League. Discussion topics will include:

How American football gained popularity in Israel.
Why football leagues have emerged in Israel for both women and men.
What are the different versions of football that are most popular in Israel, for different ages?
How has the Israel Football League expanded into international competition?
