Shidduch/Dating Crisis!!!

Guess what? There are a lot of Jewish women looking for love, but the Jewish guys just won’t commit. It’s a crisis. Seriously.

Maybe someone should write an article about it.

Oh, someone has already?

Really? That many articles? About the same thing?

Well, two more (in the same week) can’t hurt ,right?

From the Forward:

This failed-dating syndrome has affected young women much more than their male counterparts. Even for the community’s most attractive and accomplished young women, it can be hard to get a decent guy on a date, let alone into a relationship. The gender disparity is a product of several factors, including traditional dating logic. While the dating pool grows for men as they get older, and often continue to date younger women, the choices shrink for women, who often prefer to date men their own age or older. (MORE)

And from the Wall Street Journal:

It’s not that there are more Orthodox women than men out there; experts instead attribute the shortage to the broader sociological trend of postponing marriage, which works to the disadvantage of women looking for spouses their own age or just a few years older. Men who are 30 will date women as young as 18 and may turn their noses up at dating any woman past the age of 25. (MORE)

Okay. Seriously, being serious: I don’t mean to make fun of what for some people is, no doubt, a difficult situation, but doesn’t anyone have anything new to say about this issue.

Why is it that the same story gets recycled over and over with no new insight, no new analysis?
