Lisa Lisser

Lisa Lisser was inspired to become a Jewish educator through her experience as a student in the Melton School in MetroWest NJ over 15 years ago. Since 2014 she has facilitated a wide variety of Melton Core and Scholars curricula in various schools in NYC and NJ. After leaving a career in law to raise her family, Lisa became involved in her local federation which grew to national involvement and included being chosen to participate in the Wexner Heritage Program. She earned her Masters of Religious Education from the Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion School of Education in NYC in 2017. Currently, she is the Assistant Director of Lifelong Learning at Temple Shaaray Tefila in NYC where she teaches adults and children the multitude of ways into Jewish life, learning and spirituality. Lisa furthered her learning and is trained as both a Mikveh Guide with Immerse NYC, and as a Spiritual Counselor through the Elaine Breslow Institute of Beit T’Shuvah, a Jewish home for repair and recovery from addiction. Lisa believes that our texts hold the answers to many of today’s most difficult questions and is honored to be able to inspire her students of all ages to dig deeper to find their Jewish connections. Lisa has three grown children and lives in Cedar Grove, NJ.
