Gefilte Fish is Taking Over the World

If you are fans of The Gefilteria (like we are) then you will be pretty excited to learn that Jeffrey Yoskowitz and Liz Alpern have written their first cookbook: The Gefilte Manifesto, with a big ‘ol stuffed fish right on the cover.

Haven’t heard of these guys? Well, a few years ago they launched The Gefilteria, seeking to infuse some new world sensibilities and flavors into old world Ashkenazi foods that could use a facelift, like their namesake, gefilte fish, a variety of pickles and even kvass (a Russian fermented drink). Their cookbook will bring that same mindset to a wider section of foods including several flavors of challah, home cured corned beef and a sweet noodle kugel with plums, just to name a few. Check out a few of the sample recipes here.

The book hasn’t been released quite yet, but you can pre-order it on Amazon. We can’t wait to get our hands on it, so in the meantime we’ll be drooling. And waiting.
