Black Cherry Soda Ice Cream Float Recipe

There’s nothing quite like a pastrami sandwich and a Dr. Brown’s black cherry soda. To me they go together like peanut butter and jelly and bring me back to my childhood when we would visit my aunt Harriet in Queens and stop by the deli for dinner. My dad would always order the same thing: chopped liver and tongue sandwich with a Cel-Ray soda. My poison of choice was pastrami, and a black cherry.

I wanted to take that beloved black cherry soda and have a little fun with it. And there’s almost nothing as fun as ice cream, whipped cream and sprinkles. With a cherry on top, of course. I served these delicious treats to my daughter and her buddies by the pool recently (I think they approved). But you can also make a boozy adult version by adding 1 oz of dark rum to each glass. A little fizz, a little ice cream, a little memories and a lot of fun all in one glass.
