Chava Turniansky was born in Mexico and moved to Israel twenty years later.She has studied at Universidad Aut?noma de M?xico, Hebrew University, where she earned her BA, MA, and PhD in Yiddish Literature, and the Normal School for Teachers in Jerusalem. She is a Professor Emeritus in the Yiddish Literature department at the Hebrew University.
