Blessing over Wine or Grape Juice

Birkhot hanehenin:  Blessings recited prior to eating, drinking, or smelling.

Before drinking wine or grape juice, recite the following blessing:

 

 

Barukh ata adonai

Blessed are You, Lord

 

Eloheinu melekh ha'olam

Our God, Ruler of the universe

 

borei p'ri hagafen.

Who creates the fruit of the vine.
