A Stand-Up Rabbi

Bob Alper bills himself as the "only practicing clergyman doing stand-up comedy... intentionally."

Rabbi Bob Alper is a Reform rabbi, holds a doctorate from Princeton Theological Seminary, and has served congregations in Buffalo and Philadelphia, where he continues to conduct High Holiday services. But he also has another career--as a stand-up comic who performs in clubs, has appeared on television, and produced several books and CDs. His comedy, naturally, focuses on life in the rabbinate and on Judaism in general.
