A chart showing Hebrew characters, their names, and their sounds.

  • The following chart--showing the Hebrew alphabet, known as the Aleph Bet after its first two letters--shows all the Hebrew consonants and their pronunciations in modern Hebrew. Some letters are written differently when they appear as the final character in a word; these alternates are listed in the chart. Vowels in Hebrew are indicated by certain dots and dashes that would appear under and beside the letters.
